Legal & General provide access to a Pre-Paid Funeral plan provided by Dignity.
The Prepaid Funeral Review says that the Legal & General Funeral Plan is a Dignity Funeral Plan (only) and is being offered by Legal & General to augment their over 50 Life Insurance Plan.. We would humbly suggest that this is a good plan – but it may not be the best plan in your circumstances. Other plans are of course available.

On with Legal & General Funeral Plan PR:
Dignity launched the first funeral plan in the UK in 1985 and have been the market leaders ever since. More than 350,000 people have taken out a funeral plan with Dignity.
This product gives customers peace of mind by allowing them to pre pay for their funeral at today’s prices and guarantees to cover the cost of the cremation funeral regardless of rising market prices.
Martin Noone, Protection Distribution Director at Legal & General said. ” this is a new addition to the wide range of products available to the IFA market through Legal & General, complimenting the current financial planning services offered by advisers to their clients aged over 50. It also provides advisers with a new income stream which is useful given the current economic climate.”
There are three plans available to customers over the age of 50. All have a set price and all include the arrangements for a cremation funeral although a burial option is available. Acceptance is guaranteed and there is no upper age limit and no health restrictions.
Peter Julier, Protection Marketing Director for Direct at Legal & General said, “discussing financial provision for funeral arrangements is never an easy subject, but like making a will, it is important and sensible to make early preparations.
By doing so, a customer ensures that their wishes are known and it helps to remove the burden of worry at what is a very difficult time for their family. The product extends Legal & General’s funeral planning offering for customers who are concerned about rising costs.”
